Ten years ago Mantis Recordings was born in the east midlands of England; a place rich in dance music history (Charles Webster, DiY, Bent, the UK’s first house music chart hit by Krush, the birthplace of the Renaissance club and a fast footed past of Northern Soul all nighters). A background in hip-hop and house music led to the first releases by key artist and co-founder Atjazz. A series of exciting 12”s followed, introducing artists such as Rhythm Plate, Kimra and one of the labels finest discoveries Brooks. His track Clix is a stone cold classic, and featured on his debut album You, Me & Us, which firmly placed him on the electronic music map somewhere between Derby to Detroit.
